On Thursday August 28th, Great Life Music hosted their now-monthly performance series, CLASSIC ALBUMS, at Reggie's Music Joint on South State Street in Chicago. CLASSIC ALBUMS features two different bands on the last Thursday of every month, preparing some of the greatest albums ever recorded and performing them in their entirety. The series is curated by Colby Beserra, co-founder of Great Life Music, and the musicians are hand-picked from across Chicago's world-class music scene for their musicality and passion.

The evening concluded with a scorching interpretation of the 2nd Police album from 1979, titled REGGATTA DE BLANC and featuring such hits as “Message In A Bottle” and “Walking On The Moon”. Helmed by Jeff Freling and Matt Brewer on guitars, the band also featured Dan Leali on drums, Jon Paul on bass, and Paul Mutzbaugh on keys. David Sherman carried the majority of the vocals, supported by Colby Beserra, David Blamires and Jeff Freling (on the Stewart Copeland leads). The album was a stark reminder of the Police’s early fire and fury, before the top-40 glory of SYNCRONICITY and their subsequent dissolution.
