Undercover Series CD

Posted on March 23, 2010

IN 2007, WE TEAMED UP WITH THE STAFF OF EIGHT FORTY-EIGHT to create a project that celebrated this rich and storied craft.  We knew then that we wanted to draw on Chicago's own amazing local music scene – a deeply rooted, interconnected community made up of some of the most talented, generous, willingly collaborative and open minded musicians you’ll ever meet.  This CD features some of the songs and bands that have made UNDERCOVER so much fun to work on, and such a popular series to listen to.  We hope you enjoy hearing these songs again – for the first time.

The Undercover CD was part of the most recent pledge drive in March 2010.

Performances

Posted on February 15, 2010

Winter is upon us, and GREAT LIFE MUSIC has several PUBLIC PERFORMANCES planned for the month of March.

First, we're proud to announce that GLM will be providing all of the musical entertainment for the Hotel Orrington's Industry Party on Wednesday, March 10th from 5:30-7:30 PM. In keeping with our mission to continually offer new and exciting musical options, we'll be featuring 3 ensembles, each exciting and fresh in it's own unique way.

First, meet us in the 9th floor conference space where we'll be featuring our new DJ/band hybrid, ELEMENTAL, led by Colby Beserra. Consisting of 2 keyboards, male and female vocals, and featuring our DJ on beats and drum samples, this slimmed-down and super-contemporary group puts a fresh electronic spin on classic hits and contemporary tunes alike.

Next, have some dessert in the Heritage Ballroom where one of our industry's most accomplished violinists, Jennifer Lowe, will give the first public performance of her own rock and roll violin show, called COVER GIRLS. Employing the latest in music technology, bold and appealing costumes, and an army of purple violins, COVER GIRLS is ahead of the curve in designing fresh, captivating, and musically innovative shows of this nature.

Finally, join us for more networking in the Grand Ballroom where you'll be treated to the sounds of the hottest new small dance band in the city, TRYST. Led by celebrated Chicago vocalist Typhanie Monique, the band has the versatile repertoire of a band twice its size and features several multi-instrumentalists. TRYST is the perfect 6-to-7 piece solution for clients who want the experience of a large dance band in a smaller package and price range.

To RSVP, please email Robin Schultz at robins@hotelorrington.com.
